Kvæder i mit køkken

I'm knitting socks socks socks! This is a pair of alpaca socks to keep my sister's cold feet warm at night. The pattern is Gentleman's Shooting Stockings from Knitting Vintage Socks by Nancy Friday. I love the yarn and the pattern... not too difficult, and not too boring - precisely how a sock pattern should be!

lazy blogger

Yes, that's me. I know, I should take the camera and take pictures, but there's so much else I should as well ;) Besides a pair of not very pretty boring old standard socks don't give that interesting pictures for the blog... so I'll let you use your imagination, I'm sure that gives much better pictures!

Finished: a pair of socks knit from the toe up (finally learned how!) in some football-stripy sock yarn from Regia (blue and white stripes). I used some blue yarn for toe + heel, since I only had one ball of the stripy yarn. I started knitting them in the spring, finished one sock, started the other, but at the heel I got stuck. Totally stuck. And it wasn't second-sock-syndrome! No, I lost one of my 2,5 mm dpn's on the train one the way to my parents! My favourite knitting needles, and actually the first I ever got... my mom gave them to me when I learned to knit. *sighs*. Then the weather turned melting warm, and I kept forgetting to buy new needles, until now, when I found some in my mom's knitting needle bag :) So now the socks are done after something like 6 months *oops*

back again!

The break lasted a lot longer than planned... I simply haven't been knitting all summer! Was too warm and I've been too busy I guess :) But now autumn is here, and I got the need for knitting back!
My birthday has passed, and I got some money... for which I bought the lovely knitting-kit shown up there. It's Livstrykketrøje from Geilsk in dark petrol. I've already started knitting, and it is wonderful! I simply love it :)
Other than that I've knitted a pair of socks for my sister in law who is working in Greenland for some weeks, and needed warm socks.

Sewing is going a tiny bit better than knitting, at least I've made a couple of skirts while not knitting ;) Will see if I can get some pictures of them soon.

I hope I'll get better at posting again, and I'm also working one getting a new layout on the site.. might take some time though! If anyone has a clue on how to use Adobe GoLive, please send me a message :)
